Maryland Community Church
Brazil, IN
For more than a century, Maryland Community Church has been growing and serving the Terre Haute region of Indiana. As the church looked to extend its reach and impact, it recognized an opportunity to serve communities where many of its people already lived—particularly in Brazil, Indiana, which had previously lacked a church with a similar approach and vision. In response, Maryland purchased a vacant Methodist building and, in partnership with Risepointe and their collaborators, transformed it into a vibrant new home. What was once an empty facility has been reimagined as a space full of life, energy, and renewed purpose for the community.

Renovation to an existing facility that dates from 1901 to provide great spaces for modern worship and fellowship. Risepointe added 7 additional toilets to this building moving from 2 toilets to a total of 9. Balcony renovation with support spaces as well as planned out future expansion of the kids ministry in the lower level.
Unique Opportunities
Churches built in 1901 were built very different that we design them today. The original design did not include extensive space for people to gather before and after services nor did they plan nearly enough restrooms for the people in the facility.
