Adaptive Reuse at Frankenmuth Bible Chapel | Risepointe

by | May 23, 2025

Frankenmuth Bible Church’s mission is to glorify God in community.

Land-locked, out of space, and far from the downtown of one of Michigan’s largest tourist cities, Frankenmuth Bible Church was looking outside the box, and looking for guidance from God on what the right next step would be in order to make room for more.

They found a large, and can I say weird building, situated right in the downtown area, that was developed and used for years as a bank, complete with drive through, and then a large insurance office operation. Multiple building projects, awkward building connections, odd entrances and literally TONS of steel in the form of vaults were just a few of the hurdles they faced in transforming this building into a GREAT place to worship God and enjoy community.

FBC took on this project with a clear vision and calling for what God was asking them to do! Volunteer teams rolled up there sleeves, local contractors performed above and beyond and a true building transformation took place!

This tremendous effort allowed them to more than double the seating opportunities on a weekend, but also allowed them to open up the building to the community, right in the heart of where it’s all taking place!
